Ennis Rugby Club appoint new Coach

Darragh O’Sullivan has been appointed to the position of Head Coach, Ennis Rugby Football Club announced last week. This will be O’Sullivan's second tenure with the club as he was head coach from 2010-2012 .

New Coach

O’Sullivan, a wing forward with Garryowen for most of his playing career where he won 3 senior cups, started his coaching career in Kilfeacle as a player coach . He returned as Head Coach to Garryowen steering them to the highest honour in Irish club rugby winning the AIL League Cup in 2007.

Mr. O’Sullivan has been involved with the Rice College rugby team for the past 5 years and has seen many young Ennis players pass through the college in that time. He said his goals for the Ennis team are “Facilitating the development of young players, being in the hunt for playing honours ,and having players vying for positions within the team .”

ERFC Chairman of Rugby Declan Brandon said that rugby in Ennis was in a very good position at the moment with so many players currently involved in the adult scene, and he is looking forward to what he hopes will be a great season .

Pre season training starts on Tuesday August 5th. All players new and old are encouraged to attend .
